"Building a custom boat was a once in a lifetime dream for Pam and me. We couldn't be happier that we chose Aquidneck Custom to fulfill that dream. Every aspect of the build was first rate, and working with the ACC team was a joy. The result was a seaworthy, well-found and beautiful yacht that has exceeded our expectations in every way."

"Building a new boat is naturally a big, exciting project. It should be fun, too. Bill and the team at ACC not only built us a first-class boat but also made the process enjoyable. Care and a commitment to quality are perhaps the two attributes that stand out most. ACC made every effort to understand what we wanted and then to deliver it. The care for the project is reflected in Bill's personal involvement and attention to detail. Long after delivery, when he joined us in sailing Leopard to Antigua, he continued to look for ways in which the boat could be improved or the next project made even better. The commitment to quality is obvious on even a casual inspection of the boat, but perhaps is nowhere better displayed than in photos of the hulls after final paint: mirror-smooth, without ripples or bumps. Leopard is a boat we can be proud to show to knowledgeable sailing friends. For us, a boat is more than just a sailing machine. ACC built something very special."
Moray Dewhurst - "Leopard" Atlantic 57' Catamaran
"It all started one late fall weekend when Chris White, the architect of my soon to be Atlantic 57' Lely, and I visited Aquidneck Custom Composites in Bristol, RI. I was looking for an American builder of custom boats who could put together not only a very fast and light catamaran, but a builder that could also make a "different" catamaran. Not the typical spartan look cat, but a catamaran with the finish, the wood work and the construction details of a one of a kind boat. Not only was Bill and his team able to accomplish that, and more, but he did it with the outmost responsibility and honesty. Bill and his team were always ready to accommodate all of my crazy ideas, or complicated ones, while at the same time suggesting ways to improve them so that my wife and I could have a marvelous catamaran. The quality of the composites was the best I have ever seen, coming from Bill's experience in building America's Cup boats. The interior, full of details as well as simple solutions, is a demonstration of the pride and dedication Aquidneck gives to its custom boats. Bill's wife, Kyle, kept the accounting as true as the best. I was able to prove, time and again, that the costs of building the best catamaran were always under control, always up to date and most importantly, as honest as they could be. All in all, Lely is the best catamaran we have ever had thanks to Bill, his wife Kyle and the whole Aquidneck Custom team. Thanks Bill!"
Roberto & Delia - "Lely" Atlantic 57' Catamaran
I always dreamt of owning the perfect boat: a boat that would make me truly happy.
My perfect boat would be an esthetic design marvel of unsurpassed quality, combining exhilarating performance with comfort and distinction. Looking at her would arouse the greatest of desires and sailing her would fulfill my deepest passions. Evocative to behold, she would also be easy to maintain.
Was the perfect boat nothing more than a figment of my imagination? Would my dream and vision ever become reality?
One day while not dreaming and by pure happenstance, I met Bill Koffler. Bill was launching a big, beautiful yawl designed by her owner, who was retired and working every day with Bill during the project.
I was envious - not of the boat, but of the collaborative process to fulfill a dream and realize a vision. That got me thinking, and it didn't take much as I am foolishly optimistic. Of course, the yawl was a work of art and that did inspire me. That day the Yawl's owner was "effen delirious" and why not? After all, he was turning his dream into reality.
Bill and I clicked right off. Soon he introduced me to David Walworth (Davy) an eclectic but brilliant designer, thinker, all around boat geek and a fantastic guy. Davy was the first guy to jump in naked…oops, I'm getting ahead of myself.
Being a boat geek myself I had recently purchased a 1939 Herreshoff 12.5 having resolved matters as such. The old wood boat (once owned by Kirsty Ally) was brought back to where she belonged – Narragansett Bay. I named her "For Sail by Owner." The dingy was named "Make an Offer."
I also owned a well-known production trimaran – a 31" LOA. Bill, Davey and I began sailing together that summer – ripping up and down the bay. One breezy day we kept an ama submerged and filled it, through a leaky hatch, two-thirds up with water. Bill was standing over the hatch and yelled, "There is a PFD floating by!' We roared with laughter until we stuffed the ama and the rig did its best spaghetti impression. We slowed down after that. Davey was paying attention.
My love for sailing tri's was contagious, and the three of us began – in earnest – the process to design a new trimaran.
Three Little Birds is the fulfillment of my dream and the realization of a vision. I have Bill and Davey, along with several others, to thank for her perfection.
